Math: In math we are finishing up our unit in Multiplication, factors, and multiples the students will have a test on Wednesday 10/12/2011. They were given a study guide last week to complete. We will be starting our new unit on understanding and applying multiplication and division. Science: In Science we are working in our Earth Resources unit. October 25,2010
Its that time of year again to begin working on Science Fair Projects!!! As a fourth grade student, your child is expected to complete an individual science fair project. It is worth 25% of their grade and can impact their grade significantly if not completed and on time. Today October 25, 2010 your child received their science fair project folder. Within this folder is the complete packet that explains in detail the steps to complete the project in a timely manner. This packet will be the place where your child will collect and record their data. On the front page is a deadline schedule. On the due dates I will check off and initial that your child has shown me their information I would greatly appreciate that all parents initial the deadline schedule as well. This science fair project requires all team players to participate. (child, parent, and teacher) As a class we will complete a class science fair project, I will walk the students through each of the steps of the scientific method. The students must stay focused, attentive, and ready to participate so that they are able to go home and work on their very own project and apply the information they learned in class.
I have attached a few documents that will assist your child in choosing a topic. I will also attach the PowerPoint we went over in class today explaining what a testable question, purpose statement, title, and topic may look like. If you have any questions about anything please don't hesitate to call or email.
